Good Fences Make Good Neighbors

Julie pays a visit to her neighbor Carol, bringing up a matter of importance that she needs to discuss urgently. Julie discloses that she has noticed appealing young ladies leaving Carol's residence during odd hours, hinting that Carol's spouse may be unfaithful. Despite displaying concern, Julie seems to derive a certain satisfaction from sharing this piece of information - exposing herself as a nosy individual within the neighborhood. Unexpectedly, Carol unveils that it is actually her engaging in clandestine relationships with women. Feeling remorseful for prying, Julie offers her apologies for interfering. However, Carol, suspicious of Julie's gossipy nature, fears that Julie might spill the beans to her husband about the affairs. Although Julie reassures Carol that she will keep quiet, Carol remains unconvinced and subtly indicates that she is privy to some potentially damaging secrets about Julie. Fearing the exposure of her own undisclosed information, Julie vows to maintain confidentiality regarding Carol's affairs. Nevertheless, Carol believes that the pact is lopsided, with Carol having to safeguard numerous secrets while Julie only has one to keep. To level the playing field, Carol demands an additional condition to seal the deal: physical intimacy. Shocked by the proposal, Julie hesitates but eventually consents reluctantly.
